joined the ranks of organizations making a
commitment to protect the environment by becoming an
ENERGY STAR® Service and Product Provider (SPP)
partner. New Boundary Technologies, through its
voluntary partnership with the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency’s
ENERGY STAR program, will work
to improve energy efficiency, promote
sustainability, and reduce harmful impact on the
environment.

Technologies will Develop and implement a plan
consistent with the ENERGY STAR Energy Management
Guidelines to achieve energy savings;

Encourage other organizations we work with to take
the ENERGY STAR Challenge;
Develop and market software solutions that help
organizations reduce energy consumption and improve
energy efficiency.
Consistent with the company’s participation in the
ENERGY STAR program, New Boundary Technologies
recently released a Green IT Solution for managing
PC power consumption that can cut an organization’s
overall use of electricity by up to 15 percent, and
cut use of electricity powering PCs by 60 percent or
more. The Green IT Solution delivers centralized
control of PC power management to IT departments,
enabling enterprise-wide energy efficiency and cost
savings. Powered by Policy Commander® and the
company’s unique PwrSmart™ technology, the Green IT
Solution dramatically reduces PC power consumption,

Each year, U.S. companies waste an estimated $4
billion powering computers that are not being used.
According to EPA estimates, the average PC in a
fully powered state uses more than 700
kilowatts-hours of electricity, more than an average
refrigerator, and wastes approximately 400
kilowatt-hours. Proactively managing PC power

more, or up to $350,000 annually for an organization
with 5000 PCs.
